How We Find and Count Laundromats
Data source
Every listing starts as a public Google business listing (name, address, phone, website, rating, review count and posted hours). We do not accept payment to add a business or to change its rating. Where we have checked hours on a business's own website, the page says so.
What counts as a laundromat
A business is shown in a city's laundromat list only if its listing describes a self-service laundromat, coin laundry, washateria or wash-and-fold laundry. Dry cleaners, alteration shops, car washes, carpet cleaners, linen and uniform services and commercial or hospital laundries are excluded. Duplicate listings for the same address are merged. Businesses we are unsure about are left out rather than guessed.
How we count
The number on a city page is the number of listings shown in that city's list. A state total is the sum of its city pages, and the site total is the sum of all states. Right now that is 5,450 laundromats on 1,558 city pages in 46 states. A city with very few listings may be kept out of search results until we have more to show.
About hours
1,894 listings have posted hours. Hours come from the business's Google listing or its own website and can change without notice, especially on holidays. A listing marked open 24 hours is based on what the business posts. Always call or check the business's website before you go.
When the data was refreshed
The Google listing records we hold carry a last-updated date of June 2024 where one is recorded. Classification, duplicate removal and hours checks were last reviewed in October 2026. We update a city page when we re-check its listings.
Request a correction
If a listing is closed, has the wrong hours, is not a laundromat, or is missing, tell us through the contact form with the page link and the change. Owners can ask for corrections or removal at no cost.
